ME & MY CALICO PATCHES

See my patches? That makes me a calico.

We calicos have patches.  Meowmuh says calicos can be almost any breed and we are almost always female.  Me?  My breed?  A straight-eared Scottish Fold. See Meowmuh's Mews 'N News Article about us calicos called "Calico Cats."

CALICO CATS

The above picture shows six month old Sophee, one of the Cat Authors, on her first evening in our home.  Sophee is a calico.  Calico is NOT a breed. It is a color, a pattern.  Calico cats have a coat of white fur with distinct patches of colors, usually orange and black.  In contrast, tortoiseshell cats (not to be confused with calico cats) have red, black, brown, yellow and/or orange colors woven throughout their coats.  They do not have the distinct colorful patches of the calico.  Some torties do have white fur with the mottled or woven coats but do not have the distinct calico patches.

I AM CALICO

Meowmuh says I am the happiest cat she has ever seen.  And, I am.  I am Calico and, if I purr loud enough, maybe Meowmuh will put that camera down and brush me.  Just thinking about getting brushed makes me purr.

PAW-POUNDERS, CAT-TIONARIES AND THE OLE' BITE AND TEAR TECHNIQUE

My first day writing in my new home. i don't know about you, but I always need my dictionary.

I am helping my new Meowmuh in her office.  She is on a cat-puter.  I prefer the paw-pounder or typewriter.  Know what?  We have one MAJOR thing in common, we both love to write.  Need to look up a word?  I use the cat-tionary.  Someday, I will be a real author.
