BLACK CATS IN EGYPT

Egyptian's royal households revered we black cats. We were adorned in jewels & allowed to eat off their plates. We were the symbol of Bastet, the black cat-headed Goddess of Protection. They believed that she would become part of their cat & would grace their home with riches, prosperity and fertility.

EGYPTIAN BLACK CATS

I'm a black Egyptian cat.

This cat "hangs out" on our wall too. When guests come over, they say this cat is sooo handsome and then they say he looks like Spirit. Spirit is an Egyptian Mau cat. All Egyptian Maus have those same gooseberry green eyes. Spirit might be handsome, but I'm cool.
