Meet Inkee-Bear
I am Inkee-Bear. Some say my name should be Mellow-Purr-Bear because I take life as it comes. I was born in April 2011 or three weeks after Gracee. I am a silky, midnight-black, straight-eared Scottish Fold weighing in at almost 13 pounds. I was very sick when I first went to my forever home but my meowmuh and the lady Doc saved me. I purr most of the time but always when I think of them. View Inkee-Bear's Posts.
Yes, you can appreciate me (and all black cats) on Friday and every other day if you want to. I’m cool with that. I'm kool, calm, affectionate & a good hunter. My sibs scramble, jump & grab at anything that moves. Anything. They're like frenetic. Me? I wait. Then I wait some more. Then, BOOM! I come outta’ nowhere & snatch it!! Everyone is surprised!
National Cat Day? No? International Cat Day? What's that? When's that? On August 8 every year? Meowmuh says there's lots of ways to celebrate International Cat Day -- also called World Cat Day.
Meet Annie. Isn't she cute? I like kittens. I took care of Sophee & Spirit when they were little kittens. I groomed them, let them grab my tail, jump on me & take naps with me. Annie's a rescue from the East San Fernando Valley Shelter where our Aunt Laurel is fostering kittens. But Annie has her fur-ever home now with our Aunt Laurel & Lucy, the inimitable dachshund.
Spirit: Meowmuh's talkin' 'bout 4. The 4 of us? Inkee: Nope. Spirit: There's 4 cat trees; I counted. Inkee: Glad you can count. Spirit: Well, what then? Inkee: The 4th of July. Spirit: What's that? Inkee: Independence Day.
Yikes. This sorta' big guy is a Maine Coon. Is he bigger than me? Dunno.' They are supposed to be a super breed. They have a thick coat with a big tail to wrap around themselves to keep warm in winter. Are they happy in say, Southern CA? Yep. Meowmuh's friend, Lynne, had a Maine Coon named Merlin and he was very happy -- and handsome. Am I jealous? Nope.
Meow to all you 2-legged & 4-legged Dad's out there on this, your special day! If you didn't already know, Sophee & I have the same dad, Mr. Kool-Kat. We have his purr-sonality fur shure. We're laid-back but playful. One big difference: I eat my food, even popcorn. In contrast, Sophee frequently doesn't eat much of her breakfast.
At our house, we have all sorts of toys & puzzles to play on, in & with. But it's the littlest things that are the most fun -- like wrappers, popcorn, bottle tops, hair rollers, ice cubes, even a strip of cabbage dropped on the kitchen floor. In this video/gif, I'm playin' with this bobbypin. You probably already guessed that it's Meowmuh's.
Yes, I'm sitting in a dining room chair at our dining room table watching the birds & butterflies in our backyard. There are three new cats that walk through our yard. They must be watched. Very carefully. One looks like Spirit. Meowmuh doesn't let us out of our house unless we're in our carriers, our stroller or on a leash/harness.
See these two babies? They're not sleeping IN their bed. They're sleeping UNDER it. Meowmuh had a cat named Tigger that loved to sleep UNDER things. He taught Gracee to sleep & hide under blankets, towels--you name it. Gracee's fav is under the comforter in the bedroom. If you walk in the bedroom & see a small lump in the bedcovers, it's probably Gracee.
Meet two precious kittens at the Pasadena Humane Society's 'Neely Center for Cats.' These two little ones are in the midst of a serious kitten-nap. They must really be tired because there were a lot of people milling around looking to adopt. NOTICE: They are sleeping IN their cushy little bed. The kittens in the next pic found their own, unique place to nap.
