I am Spirit, the youngest, strongest, most intense and active of all the cats in my family. I am a silver Egyptian Mau with black spots weighing in at just less than 13 pounds. I was born in November 2012 in Wichita, Kansas; I flew from there to my forever home in Los Angeles. Life is so exciting, isn’t it? I love meeting people, learning new things and having my tummy tickled. I run all the time….up and down the stairs, through the house and on my new cat wheel. View Spirit's Posts.
Spirit: What's Valentine's Day? Inkee-Bear: It's a day to show that you like -- Spirit: How do I know that? Inkee-Bear: Sigh.
It's been a long day. Sigh. Found my fav bag -- sniffed it -- rolled 'n groomed on it -- now it's time to say good night. Bless my sibs, my hooman & you; love all of them including you. Promise you'll sleep tight all night &, whatever you do, don't let the bed bugs bite.
Dunno' what you do when you're happy but I roll 'n roll 'n groom 'n roll. My hooman says: "Spirit's happy -- he's rollin'. It's true! Why am I so happy? It's cause I found my fav bag, that's why. My hooman takes it to her classes. I love givin' it the sniff-all-over test as soon as she brings it home -- it has the most intriguing scents. Love this bag!
Found it! And it was just lyin' here on the floor all by itself! This is my fav bag -- my Black Cat bag. It's our hooman's fav bag too. This bag carries a notebook & pen to our hooman's writing classes. Furr shure everyone in the class knows about us & knows she loves cats. Yes, there is a black cat on the bag & Inkee-Bear is the black sheep -- I mean cat, in this household.
Jeff, our webdesigner, charlescreative.com, thinks our pic resembles the Chinese symbol for Yin & Yang. Yin & Yang has been a fundamental concept in Chinese philosopy & culture since before the 3rd century BCE.
They call us the 'Sibling Bookends'-- or the 'Bookend Siblings.' We frequently 'end' up on our catwalk together. From up here, we have choices. We can either watch our hooman, in this case our hooman turned photographer inside our house & below us or the birds, bees & trees outside our house through the window behind us. Which would you choose?
Inkee-Bear: Fire up that new CD! Gotta’ see what that ‘beat’ thing is. Our hooman loves Cuba's music. Spirit: More than she loves me? Inkee-Bear: Probably.
No, I don't want to get up. No, don't turn on the TV. I don't want to watch the Rose Parade. I need more, you know, sleep. Whether it is or isn't New Years yet, I/we wish all you 2 & 4-legged critters out there -- a purrfectly, meowvelous, absolutely pawsome Happy, Healthy & Productive New Year!! Happy 2019!!
We're exhausted. We've been taking down our Christmas decorations all day. Kind of sad. All the Santas, the deer, the angels, the elves, they're all getting packed away in baggies, bags, & plastic bins. This festive Christmas throw covered our big recliner. But now it's time to get it washed & put away with all the other things for next Christmas.
Inkee-Bear: "We're waitin' for Santa. Sleep? Did you say sleep? Tonight? The night before Christmas? I keep tellin' Spirit. We have to be patient. But Spirit is--well, you probably already figured it out." Spirit: What? I'm patient -- most of the time. So what if I jump at every little noise? I'm what you call high-strung.
