Cat Fanciers' Association

Meowmuh isn't sure about the breed of this cat.  It is waiting so patiently to be judged.  It didn't mind having it's pic taken -- even struck a pose for the pic. This is Meowmuh's first cat show so she was fascinated.  We told her not to ask about any new kittens. Did I/we want her to bring any more cats home?  NO, NO, NO.

Yikes. This sorta' big guy is a Maine Coon. Is he bigger than me?  Dunno.' They are supposed to be a super breed. They have a thick coat with a big tail to wrap around themselves to keep warm in winter.  Are they happy in say, Southern CA?  Yep.  Meowmuh's friend, Lynne, had a Maine Coon named Merlin and he was very happy -- and handsome.  Am I jealous?  Nope.

Ragamuffins are a laid-back breed -- not like me. These cats, like Ragdolls, make good therapy cats because they (well, most of them) completely relax when hoomans hold them.  Hoomans like that.  This is one of the cats being judged at the Cat Fanciers' Cat Show in Houston, Texas.  Meowmuh said she spent hours there looking at all of the cats and talking to their 'staff" (caretakers).

At cat shows, they judge you by I don't know what. They fur shure judge by breed.  Meowmuh said she didn't see any Egyptian Maus or Scottish Folds there so she watched the judging for 'House Cats' or the 'mixed' or 'no-breed' cats. Meowmuh was rooting for a little kitten but he only came in 10th out of some 34 entries. She said she liked the kitten because it looked and acted like me.

Yes, Meowmuh left me again. She went to another cat conference for writers. This time she flew non-stop to Houston, Texas. When I was just a kitten, I flew from Wichita, Kansas to Dallas, Texas, had a layover and then flew to Los Angeles to my furever home. Did I complain?  Yep.  Meowmuh and Auntie Sharon picked me up.  They said they heard LOUD yowling at the LAX terminal.
