Spirit

Here's another pic of us in the dark. Our hooman didn't edit this pic or make it lighter.  My eyes are super bright cause I'm looking directly into the camera's flash.  The shine comes from that reflective layer at the back of my eyes called the 'tapetum lucidum."  Spirit sits above me but he's not looking so directly into the flash of the camera.

Inkee: We're wishin' all you critters out there a Meowy Christmas!  Spirit:  Is't this when we get treats?  Inkee: Yes, but this is also when WE give treats to others. T'is the season of GIVING. Understand?  Spirit:  Yes, I understand. So who's GIVING  me MY treats? And when?

My eyes are glowing like Christmas tree lights!  I'm off to the left of this picture peeking over the edge of my Sleepypod.  When it's dark or getting dark, if I look directly into a light or a flash of light, my eyes shine!  All cats' eyes glow at night when a light shines on them.  So do the eyes of dogs, deer & other night-time animals.

Here we were helpin' our hooman clean ALL the window sills after that fire.  We're always tryin' to help out around the house, know what I mean?  The smokey smell inside the house was gone but we had to get rid of all that black, dirty, smelly soot stuff in the window sills.  Otherwise, it was going to smell up our house again when we opened our windows.

SPIRIT:  I'm a pilgrim -- I pilgrimaged from a foreign land -- Egypt! I'm an Egyptian Mau.  INKEE-BEAR:  If you're from Egypt, then I'm from Scotland cause I'm a Scottish Fold. Duh. You came from Kansas, remember? You flew from Wichita to Dallas to Los Angeles & our hooman brought you to OUR home.

Spirit pays more attention to me if I whisper in his ear. No, I'm not going to tell you what I'm telling him. So, just in case you ever wondered if we cats ever talk to each other -- the answer is:  "Yes, we do!"

Sometimes a big brother's gotta' do what a big brother's gotta' do. In this instance, I'm holdin' Spirit back -- it's my infamous "one-paw-hold."  I'm tryin' to keep him from gettin' in more trouble. This little silver & black cat gets into more "troub" than the rest of us put together.

A girl has to cool her claws sometimes if you know what I mean. Hopefully, my speedster youngest brother, Spirit, in the shadows behind me, will give me a break for a few anyway. "Hey, Spirit, I need a time-out!"  He needs to be given direction directly from me if you know what I mean.

We're the "Committee." We meet on our stair landing at least weekly to "meow" & "yowl" -- you know, talk things over, work things out. Not just for us but for our hooman too. But you can never work things out with Gracee. She doesn't even meet with us. Just because she's the oldest, she thinks everything should be her way or the highway.  Sigh. 

SPIRIT:  OK, OK.  Cut it out.  Quit buggin' me!  I've got bigger & better fish to fry if you know what I mean.  INKEE-BEAR:  You may be the fastest cat in the house but you're also the biggest guy cry-baby in the house.  Wait, hold on!  Don't be always runnin' off.  Oops. A bit of a snag here.  Didn't really mean to snag you like that, dude.
