This morning I wake up, stretch and start pulling with my claws on the carpet. Here comes Meowmuh commanding: "No!" She picks me up and carries me to a post. She rubs my front paws on it. Whats up with that? My older brother, Tigger, is sitting beside the post watching us.
Tigger says: "Good grief; Meowmuh, I'll show him." Tigger stands on his hind legs, reaches his front paws to the very top of the post, puts his claws out and, with alternating paws, starts scratching and pulling on the post. Oh, so that is what I'm supposed to do? Looks like fun! I'll try it. So, I stand on my hind legs, reach up, put my front claws out and, with alternating paws, I scratch and pull on the post...just like Tigger.
Meowmuh laughs and exclaims: "What good boys you are! Thank you, Tigger." She picks Tigger up and hugs him which totally and I do mean totally, embarrasses him.
Tigger mumbles: "Please, Meowmuh, not in front of the little ones." She laughs, puts him down and picks me up and hugs me. I am different than Tigger. I like being held and hugged anytime, anyway, any day. I am telling you all of this just to prove two things: Cats DO teach each other and, most important, I AM teachable. And now? I'm off and running.
