HELPIN' CLEAN OUR HOUSE
by Inkee-Bear, Spirit on Dec 24 2017 Add Comment

We're helpin' Meowmuh clean soot from the window sills. The wind & the fire made our house a mess. Meowmuh says we are just glad that we have a house to clean. So many others don't. How is their Christmas going to be? They might not even be with their hoomans. That's too hard.

I HAVE TOO BEEN GOOD
by Spirit on Dec 24 2017 Add Comment

I don't care what Inkee says. I’ve been good, I've been nice. I knock things over but I'm fast & things get in my way. I say I'm sorry. When I run out the door without my harness, I say I'm sorry.  Inkee says Santa doesn't keep "I'm Sorry" Lists.  He only keeps "Naughty' & "Nice" Lists.

DO I HEAR BELLS?
by Inkee-Bear on Dec 24 2017 Add Comment

Do I hear bells? Maybe Santa's coming to Southern CA after all! We heard that the reindeer won't fly near flames, smoke or soot. Maybe they feel sorry for us. I'd better get some tuna juice & 'Greenies' (treats) set out for Santa. I know I've been good. Merry Christmas to all!

THIS HAS NOT BEEN MY DAY
by Spirit on Dec 24 2017 Add Comment

First I have to wear this dumb scarf, Inkee says I haven't been good, early this morning hoomans made loud noises power-washing our house & windows cause of the soot from the fire, so I ate breakfast too fast & threw up & now my whiskers got caught on my sweater. I hope your day is going better. Bah, humbug.

SANTA'S NOT COMING?
by Inkee-Bear, Spirit on Dec 24 2017 Add Comment

Spirit: Santa's not coming this year? Inkee: Nope. Spirit: No gifts? No Christmas decorations? Inkee: It's cause of the fire. We've been cleaning & reindeer won't fly over fires & through smoke. Spirit: But I've been good. Inkee: Sigh. He gives a whole new meaning to the word "good."

EVERYTHING EVACUATES
by Spirit on Dec 16 2017 Add Comment

If you can't see this video, click on the Title Above. Here's another video showing the smoke that enveloped everything. The worst part was the strong wind gusts that blew embers onto us while Meowmuh & Auntie Rika loaded their cars.Thank goodness Auntie Rika was able to get to us to help. Freeways were closed so Aunties Laurel & Sharon couldn't get to us.

THE CREEK FIRE
by Spirit on Dec 16 2017 Add Comment

If you can't see the video, click on the Title above. Meowmuh included some videos of the fire so you can see how scary it was. She woke up after 4 AM to the noise of planes & helicopters flying over our house. She looked outside. The sky behind the mountains was bright orange--like a sunrise except it was too early for that. She opened a door & we could smell smoke.

EXERCISIN'
by Spirit on Dec 16 2017 Add Comment

The hoomans let the four of us out of our module for a few hours every day. I admit, I went crazy. I raced 'round the room & up & down those cat trees. The hoomans told Meowmuh they'd never seen anything like it. Meowmuh said: "That's Spirit." The only problem was, the hoomans didn't feed us our food so we all got sick. Gracee didn't eat for a week. But we're OK now.

OUR BOARDING PLACE
by Sophee on Dec 15 2017 Add Comment

On 12/6 (Wed), we evacuated from Auntie Rika's to here--the second level of this module. I'm to the far left, Spirit's next to me; Gracee's hiding & Inkee-Bear's too dark to be seen. There's a handsome orange cat, Henri, below us. Best part? Going HOME on 12/8 (Fri)! Thanks to the fire fighters, skilled pilots with their night vision goggles & police for saving our home.

POST EVACUATION!!
by Spirit on Dec 15 2017 Add Comment

We had to evacuate just after 4:30 AM on Tuesday, December 5. The wind was blowing so hard, the smoke was so thick, ashes & embers--Meowmuh told Auntie Rika & us to "Stay calm" but we were scared. We went to Auntie Rika's house to spend the night but the next day we had to evacuate from her house. So we went to the Best Little Cat House in Pasadena.

CAROLS?
by Gracee, Sophee on Dec 2 2017 Add Comment

Sophee: Meowmuh, when are we going to practice our Christmas Carols on the piano? We like it when you play, even if no one else does. I like "Winter Wonderland,' "Jingle Bells"--"Who's that Kitten in the Window? Meow. Meow." Gracee: No, no, it's "Who's that Doggie in the Window? Arf Arf" AND that song is NOT a Christmas Carol! Good grief.

THE TWO PILGRIMS
by Inkee-Bear, Spirit on Nov 20 2017 Add Comment

SPIRIT: What's a pilgrim? INKEE: a traveler in foreign lands. SPIRIT: I was born in Kansas so I'm a pilgrim. INKEE: Kansas is a state, not a foreign country. SPIRIT: I'm an Egyptian Mau, I'm from Egypt--a foreign country. INKEE:  Sigh. I'm a Scottish Fold so I must be from Scotland. Happy Thanksgiving to all you pilgrims out there!

TALKIN' TURKEY
by Sophee on Nov 20 2017 Add Comment

This is one bold turkey. Go away, turkey. This is a 'cats-only' cat-tree -- let me be real clear -- this cat-tree is a 'turkey-free' zone. I don't want to hear any gobble, gobble, gobble-dee-gook -- just split.  Oh, oh. Do you hear what I hear? Meowmuh's calling you. She wants you in the oven, I mean the kitchen!

WHAT'S A VET-R-IN?
by Spirit on Nov 11 2017 Add Comment

Vet-r-in's Day? What's a vet-r-in anyway? Do they give shots? Clip nails? No? Good. So, a veteran was a hooman that fought for Meowica. Are dogs vet-r-ins? What about cats? Are there any cat veterans? They can fly, stalk, hunt & kill things--well, little things. It makes me purr when I think of all you vet-r-ins. Thank you for your sacrifice & service & for keeping Meowica safe!

WATCH ME CATCH ONE!
by Gracee on Nov 4 2017 Add Comment

(If you can't see this video, click on the above Title) My moniker is 'Gracee Fast Paws.'  I'll get one of these critters. Some moths don't have mouth parts. They drink nectar. Weird, huh? Moths are eaten by bats, owls, birds, lizards, CATS, dogs, rodents & some bears. In Africa, the larvae & caterpillar are eaten & are an excellent source of nutrition.

DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
by Gracee on Nov 4 2017 Add Comment

Do you know how much work this is? It takes focus, it takes commitment, it takes tilting your head one way & then the other. One moth is valued: The silkworm moth has been farmed for thousands of years by the Chinese for the silk they create to build their cocoons. The silk industry produces 130 million kg (1 kg = 2.2 lbs)  of silk worth about $250 million each year.

OFFICIAL MOTH GUARD
by Gracee on Nov 4 2017 Add Comment

Do you know what pests some of these little things can be? They can eat Meowmuh's clothes & our blankets. I want to know why they are so obsessed with artificial light. Yes, they fly around & around it--they won't go away. They want to come inside. I dare 'em, I double dare 'em! Watch my video: "WATCH ME CATCH ONE!"

THERE'S WHAT BEHIND ME?
by Inkee-Bear on Oct 30 2017 Add Comment

What'd you say? Two witches behind me? No way. They're gonna' get me? No way. Believe me, trust me. No witch, with or without a broomstick, is ever gonna' catch me. If I can make Spirit run & cry, then I can make anybody run & cry. Spells? Witches put spells--? No way. Trust me. Have a safe & HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
