Inkee-Bear

Meet Inkee-Bear

I am Inkee-Bear.  Some say my name should be Mellow-Purr-Bear because I take life as it comes.  I was born in April 2011 or three weeks after Gracee.  I am a silky, midnight-black, straight-eared Scottish Fold weighing in at almost 13 pounds.  I was very sick when I first went to my forever home but my meowmuh and the lady Doc saved me.  I purr most of the time but always when I think of them. SANTA'S NOT COMING?

Spirit: Santa's not coming this year? Inkee: Nope. Spirit: No gifts? No Christmas decorations? Inkee: It's cause of the fire. We've been cleaning & reindeer won't fly over fires & through smoke. Spirit: But I've been good. Inkee: Sigh. He gives a whole new meaning to the word "good."

THE TWO PILGRIMS

SPIRIT: What's a pilgrim? INKEE: a traveler in foreign lands. SPIRIT: I was born in Kansas so I'm a pilgrim. INKEE: Kansas is a state, not a foreign country. SPIRIT: I'm an Egyptian Mau, I'm from Egypt--a foreign country. INKEE:  Sigh. I'm a Scottish Fold so I must be from Scotland.

THERE'S WHAT BEHIND ME?

What'd you say? Two witches behind me? No way. They're gonna' get me? No way. Believe me, trust me. No witch, with or without a broomstick, is ever gonna' catch me. If I can make Spirit run & cry, then I can make anybody run & cry. Spells? Witches put spells--? No way. Trust me. Have a safe & HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

BLACK CATS IN EGYPT

Egyptian's royal households revered we black cats. We were adorned in jewels & allowed to eat off their plates. We were the symbol of Bastet, the black cat-headed Goddess of Protection. They believed that she would become part of their cat & would grace their home with riches, prosperity and fertility.

NATIONAL BLACK CAT DAY - FRIDAY, OCT. 27

Hey you Black Cats. Let's celebrate! Friday Oct. 27 is National Black Cats Day. DID YOU KNOW:  22 breeds can come with solid black coats. The Bombay breed is exclusively black. Black coats are more prevalent in males. Genetic mutations make us more resilient to disease. Excessive melanin causes our coats to be black. We're easy to name. Adopt one of us.

NURSING MEOWMUH

I'm helping Meowmuh heal. They replaced her right knee so she has a big oweee. She keeps busy watching TV, reading, doing those awful exercises and giving us all the attention that we deserve, need and love. Our neighbors & friends, Aunties Rika, Sharon & Laurel helped us too.

WALKERS & RIDERS

My fav thing to do? Ride on Meowmuh's walker. She walks, I ride. Doesn't matter if it's 3 am or 3 pm. She walks, I ride. When it's just sittin' there, if I run fast & jump on it, it rolls. That's a real ride! Read 'Why is the Walker So Heavy?' & 'Meowmuh's New Knee' under MEWS 'N NEWS.

HERE THEY ARE

Here they are -- our SlimCat Interactive Feeders. The green ball's circle-top is off. The blue ball's circle-top is still on. The openings around each ball let the food drop out when we roll 'em. Meowmuh adjusted the size of the openings. Our dry food is big so the openings are at their largest. Be sure to watch our video: Huntin' for Food.

HUNTIN' FOR OUR FOOD

(If you can't see our video, click on the Title) I figured out how to get my food cause I use my paws much, much more than the other dimwits  in this video. It's fun, it's competition. My reward? Food, tasty food. The first 'course' for our breakfast is our wet food. The second course is our dry food. Mostly it's served in our bowls but sometimes this way.

EATIN' TO KEEP SLIM

I get it. The food's in the balls. Know how I found out? I sniffed & snuffed all around one ball, put my nose against it &, guess what? When the ball rolled, our dry food just jumped out. Now I know. Push the ball, paw the ball, move the ball -- and eat. Be sure to watch our video: Huntin' for Food.
