In case you didn't notice -- it's March 8 -- International Women's Day! What am I going to do about it? I'm meowing with female felines, hoomans & critters to make our world gender-balanced. For hoomans, it's sorta' complicated. They want gender-balanced boardrooms, government, media, employment, wealth, sports, economy & community. We felines? We want a gender-balanced home -- cat trees, toys, food & litter boxes. So, turn your paws palms up @ your shoulders & get on with balancing our world!

March 8 - Friday is International Women's Day 2019! Women are celebrating across the world, across this planet -- maybe beyond. This year's campaign theme is: Balance for Better. What am I doing right now? I'm 'balancing' on an overhead beam -- watching my world from up here. As every agile feline knows -- The Better you Balance, the Better your World! I know, I know. It means so much more than that. Women want gender-balance in -- well, in everything. That's not hard to understand -- hard to acheive -- but not hard to understand if you know what I mean...

Our hooman saw this cartoon & thought it was purrfect for our blog. She had to pay for it -- or it could be a copywrong issue -- no, I mean a copyright issue. The cartoon's text at the bottom of the cartoon might not be visible due to pixels or whatever. So, I'll 'splain it to ya'. The Accountant is telling his patient, I mean client: "Mr. Reynolds, you can't count your litter box as a deduction just because you do your business there." Be sure & read our hooman's article: "CATS: COSTS & -- DEDUCTIONS?"

Just 'cause I'm sittin' on my hooman's tax receipts, you might think that I'm bothering or 'taxing' her. But I'm not. I'm tryin' to help her stay calm, cool & collected. She just said: "OK, Spirit. No catio this year -- the possibility of getting the usual/any tax return is diminishing. Sorry, little guy." That's depressing. She knows how I love to go outdoors. The only way I can go out now is in my very, too-secure stroller or on my harness/leash. The other cats don't want to put their paws outside. BUT I DO! I deserve a catio! Don't you agree?

Yep. Spirit, the youngest in our herd, isn't waitin' up for our hooman. He's dead to the world, so to speak. Thankfully. Lemme' tell ya', when he's awake -- look out. He runs over 30 mph. He crashes into things, into us, into our hooman. He chases us & toys that our hooman throws. He's a genuine action figure when he's awake. So, sleep tight, little guy. We love you but sometimes, just like any critter, we need a break.

Our hooman's been sitting in front of that screen for a long, long time. It's very late. Maybe she's writing about us. We help her as much as we can -- including not stepping on the keys in front of the screen. She tells us: "Be careful, don't step on the keys." I never do but some of my sibs -- well, sigh. It's been dark out for a long time now. So, we're waiting for her to come to bed. We're telling her to hurry up! We need to get to sleep. Some of my sibs are already asleep.

My hooman sits at her desk in front of this screen while her fingers press keys -- kind of like when she's practicing piano. It's fun being near her. So, when she sits in front of the screen, I sit behind the screen. When she stands up to take a break, she's always surprised to see me sitting here -- behind the screen. This time she laughed & took my picture. Yep, I always hang with my hooman.

Wow! This day before Valentine’s Day has been exhausting! Teddy bears, hearts, bah-loons, ribbons—I’m plum wore out if you see what I’m sayin’. I need to get some serious sleep time in so I’ll be all handsome for tomorrow — Valentine’s Day. If the neighbor’s cats don’t come over, I’m gonna’ call Auntie Rika’s cats — Lucy & Mikey. They’ll be my Valentines furr shure! Have a fun day.

Our hooman’s taking a break from our photo shoot. Maybe she’s frustrated cause we keep moving, scattering. In this pic we’re lookin’ in different directions, we’re on different levels, we’ve been pouncing on the ribbons that dangle from those bah-loons that keep moving — scraping & bouncing on the ceiling & walls. You know we cats LOVE anything that moves. We’re having fun & hope you are too! Happy Valentine’s!!!

What’s up with all this red stuff, hearts, teddy bears, bah-loons? I’m sittin’ in front of a big heart at this very moment. Bigger than mine furr shure. Bigger than my hooman — I’m certain of that. We all have good hearts if you get my drift so we’ll all be your Valentine. Think of us & you’ll have a super Valentine’s Day!!

What’s with these flying things? Bah-loons? They keep bouncing & moving. Like every time the heat comes on, they get blown around. They’re dancin’ on the ceilin’ if you know what I mean. Anyhoo — may you too have bah-loons that dance on this, your Valentine’s Day!!

I’ve been waiting to ask the neighbor’s cat to be my Valentine. But she never showed. My hooman says it’s because it’s been raining — cats don’t like rain. I wouldn’t know. Me? I’m an indoor cat — except when my hooman takes me out in the stroller. Well, I can at least wish YOU — Happy Valentine’s Day!

Spirit: How much time do we have to find a Valentine? A few more days? Only a few more days!? Then you need to take us outside in our stroller otherwise we'll be Valentineless. Inkee-Bear: Spirit, calm down. Sophee could be your Valentine but she does get mad when you chase her & catch her. You need to slow down. Spirit: Slow down? No siree! Speed is in my genes, know what I mean? I'd rather be Valentineless than slow down! Inkee-Bear: Then so be it. What will be will be. Sigh.

Spirit: I don't wanna' panic or nothin' -- but what if they don't come before Valentine's Day? Inkee-Bear: Then you can ask someone in our house to be your Valentine. Spirit: Huh? You mean like Gracee? She stilll hisses at me. Inkee-Bear: No, not Gracee. She's a hissing machine. Remember when the raccoons came to the back door? She started hissing, screeching, jumping up & down -- the baby racoons thought it was a game & all five of them started jumping up & down with her. Too funny.

Spirit: Remember the neighbors' cats that come through our back yard? Inkee-Bear: Yes.The beige ones with the brown faces. Spirit: Yes, those are the ones! Inkee-Bear: They must have a pet rabbit cause a white rabbit was chasing them the other day. Spirit: Yeah, that was funny. First the cat chased the rabbit, then the rabbit chased the cat. Our hooman saw it & laughed. Inkee-Bear: Maybe one of those can be your Valentine. Spirit: Maybe but DEFINITELY not the rabbit!

Spirit: What's Valentine's Day? Inkee-Bear: It's a day to show that you like -- Spirit: How do I know that? Inkee-Bear: Sigh. You know, if you like to play with them, let them chase you -- Spirit: There's not a cat in this house, in this universe that can catch me! Inkee-Bear: But would it hurt to let them catch YOU? Spirit: What would I do a thing like that for? Inkee-Bear: Cause sometimes a cat gets mad when they get caught. Haven't you noticed? Sigh....

Yikes! That's a ram? A male Bighorn Sheep? Not a mountain goat. Those things on their heads -- horns -- can weigh up to 30 lbs? They can jump 20 feet? They can weigh up to 300 pounds? They can balance on a 2 inch rock ledge in the Rocky Mountains? The males fight for dominance by ramming each other? At speeds up to 20 MPH? Maybe that's what Spirit is doing. Trying to be dominant. Well, the Rams will be ramming those Patriots. We'll go 'cat-razy' for our Los Angeles Rams. Go RAMS!
