Meet Sophee

I am Sophee; my registered name is Ms. Sophista-Kat. I am a calico, straight-eared Scottish Fold born in January 2012. I have the same father as Inkee-Bear and the same mother as Gracee. I might be the smallest but I have the loudest purr…I weigh less than 7 pounds. I love to play and let all of the other cats groom me. View Sophee's Posts.

CATCH THAT TAIL UNTIL-- SURPRISE! (If you can't see this video, CLICK HERE)

Watch Aunt Laurel's new kitten, Annie, pursue her doggie-sibling's tail.  Annie is focused & dedicated to catching  that tail!  Persistence pays off.  She catches it several times until, CLAMITY STRIKES!  Her new sibling's stiff tail bops her in the whiskers!  She sits and collects her thoughts for a moment--but just for a moment.

CAT SHOW - RAGAMUFFIN

Ragamuffins are a laid-back breed -- not like me. These cats, like Ragdolls, make good therapy cats because they (well, most of them) completely relax when hoomans hold them.  Hoomans like that.  This is one of the cats being judged at the Cat Fanciers' Cat Show in Houston, Texas.  Meowmuh said she spent hours there looking at all of the cats and talking to their 'staff" (caretakers).

THE YELLOW LAB GUIDE DOG

This is an 'elder' guide dog at an ALOUD presentation at the Los Angeles Central Library. Meowmuh went with our auntie, Laurel. The presenter was Stephen Kuusisto, also known as the Blind Poet. He discussed passages in his book about the limits on his life prior to deciding to apply for a guide dog. Of compelling interest was the saga of his sojourn in & through Guide Dog School.

CORKY, THE GUIDE DOG

Yes, this book is about a DOG, not a cat. We all know most dogs are 'OK' but this dog, Corky, was special.  He was Stephen Kuusisto's first guide dog. We thought we knew about guide dogs, right? We didn't know about the time & training it takes to graduate from Guide Dog School. Some don't make it. If they do, they're matched with a blind hooman.

WE HAVE THE SAME MOM

My sister Gracee & I are not the same age but we have the same cat Mom. What's cool is, we share the same hooman Mom too--we call her Meowmuh. I look like my cat Mom. Gracee looks like her cat Dad. Our Meowmuh gets special things for us--a huge exercise wheel that Spirit & I run on & a stroller that we take rides in.

FOR MOTHER'S DAY

Meowmuh discovered a long white box leaning on the front door yesterday. The gift card on the front of the box said: "Thank you for being such a good mommy to us. Love, Gracee, Inkee, Sophee & Spirit." How did we cats send her flowers? Well, we'll tell you. Our Auntie Laurel did one of those things that only hoomans can do.

CINCO DE MAYO AGAIN?

Today is Cinco de Mayo? So soon? Frankly, I haven't recovered from last year's Cinco de Mayo. When we went out last year, I ordered the largest Cadillac Margarita. They must've put an extra shot of something in there cause, I swear, that drink made my ears spin. I had to hang on to my whiskers--seriously.

BLOGPAWS: THE FEE-LIN' FINE FELINE SISTERS

These are two siblings.They're multi-colored like me but they only have two colors. I have THREE! The sister on the left knows how to 'bump-paw'. She does a high-five to her hooman's fist. Very cool. Her hooman says she's real smart. NEWS FLASH:  so are we, ALL of us. Well, maybe me more than the others.  Calicos are supposed to be smarter, everyone knows that. Right?

BLOGPAWS: THE CERTIFIED THERAPY DOG

This guy is big. He's a Golden Doodle, whatever that is. But, most important, he's a Certified Therapy Dog. He graduated from the year long course. Now, as soon as his vest is on, he knows he is going to 'work.' He'll become something other than 'just a dog.' He was trained to put his chin & paw on the patients he visits.
